The Diamond Lake Snowshoe Hike consists of a series of hunter/walking trails not far from Diamond Lake. The terrain is moderate and the hiking is well suited to all ability levels and ages. A word of caution, however. The trails are not marked and you must rely completely on the map. There are numerous side trails which could be potentially confusing. The western edge of the trail system is bounded by a snowmobile trail which could serve as a reference or as an exit route should you become turned around. There are three interconnecting loops which provide from a half hour to an hour and a half or more of hiking. Round trip loops of 1.25, 2, and 3.6 miles offer a variety of options. Combine all the loops for a long hike of almost 7 miles. Parking is limited to Diamond Lake Road (FR 374). There is no sign or other indication that you are at the Diamond Lake hunter/walking trails.
